Dr East-Miles operates her occupational health practice from Winchester Surgical and Medical Institute, a full service medical centre located at 3/3A Winchester Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica. This allows for clients' employees to access all necessary testing, including those specifically provided by her, at one convenient location. Some services can also be provided onsite at the client's place of business using portable equipment.
- Conduct of OH needs assessment
- Design and implementation of OH programs tailored to suit a company's needs
- OH risk assessment of occupational exposures
- Guidance on protection of employees from work-related illnesses including work-related stress
- Investigation, diagnosis and treatment/referral of employees with work-related illnesses
- Health surveillance including hearing tests, lung function tests, detailed eye screen and biological monitoring
- Conduct of health surveillance testing on-site using portable equipment if desired
- Fitness for work examinations- pre-employment, periodic and statutory medicals
- Assessment for work in confined spaces requiring breathing apparatus
- Conduct of fitness step tests for employees requiring more than average fitness level to perform duties
- Co-ordination of medical management of employees with work-related illness or providing feedback to employer when multidisciplinary medical team is required
- Assessment of functional capability of employees to provide guidance for rehabilitation back to work after injury or periods of illness
- Provide guidance to prevent aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions and minimise the effects of these on productivity
- Sickness absence management of employees with both work-related and non-work-related conditions
- Assessments of disability and eligibility for ill-health retirement
- Health education of employers and employees
- Writing and updating occupational health policies and procedures
- Design and implement workplace wellness programs with health promotion relevant to workforce needs and aimed at increasing productivity
- Provide advice on statutory reporting of work-related illness and injury
- Training of occupational health professionals through workshops and seminars
- Conduct of onsite clinics, if preferred, and onsite ergonomic workstation assessments
- Audits of Occupational Health programmes
- Epidemiological studies and research to determine workplace trends
